GUIDANCE
this is the way i play it for solo bass, taking all the key points from the
arrangement for quartet.add hammer-ons/pull-offs, muted notes and slides as
you feel it deserves. me, i hammer-on when i want a softer sound
as im ascending a few frets, and the same for pull-offs and descending a few
frets. slide up to high notes, such as the high E (9th fret on the g string).
for emphasis on the beat, try a quarter note mute, and dig in so you get a
nice loud click, like a hand clap.
this is a acid jazz tune, and has a swing rhythym.this
explains the use of chromatic, non-chord notes. also, the breakdown at the 7th
position is the E minor blues scale, which gives it a bluesy taste. this is a
good warm-up routine for your left hand, making sure you use ALL your fingers!
plus, if your granny ever wants you to play here a tune, and all you know
is "i wanna f*** a dog in the ass" , well, now you can play something she knows.
